Myrna Galle Van Buren Collection
This collection includes notes, newspaper articles, and performance programs. Galle danced with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1946 to 1948. She then taught ballet to all age groups in California.
Marilyn Gaston Book
Gaston donated a copy of The Birth of Ballets Russes. She received a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Dance.
Pamela Gay Papers
Dr. Gay trained as a dancer from a young age including studies with Rosella Hightower in Cannes, France and was a member of Oklahoma City Civic Ballet. She wrote reviews, interviews, and essays on classical ballet for various journals for many years. Currently she is an Associate Professor of French at Alabama State University and also teaches dance history. The Pamela Gay collection consists of her acceptance letter to Oklahoma City Civic Ballet, a performance program, and a souvenir program.
Charlotte Hart Paper
Hart earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University Oklahoma School of Dance. While in her graduate program, she was Graduate Assistant in the Ballets Russe Special Collections and Archive. She contributed a 1946-47 souvenir program from the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo.
Haynes danced with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1946-1952. Her collection contains programs, photographs, moving images, scrapbooks, tour itineraries, advertisements, and newspaper articles.
Mary Margaret Holt Papers
Dean Holt was the Chair of the University of Oklahoma School of Dance when she was instrumental in the creation of the Ballets Russes Special Collection and Archive. Currently Dean of the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, the former graduate of the School of Dance joined the dance faculty in 1980 after performing with The Houston Ballet. Her collection includes interviews of Ballets Russes dancers and Dance Magazines from 1948 and 1950.
Walfrid Huskonen Artwork
Walfrid Huskonen Huskonen, a volunteer in and contributor to the School of Dance at the University of Oklahoma was a steadfast supporter. He was also Treasurer of the Museum Association Board of the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and a docent there. Huskonen donated a framed print of Leon Bakst’s “Le Roi."
Anna Istomina Photographs
Born Audree Thomas in Vancouver, British Columbia, Thomas adopted the name Anna Istomina when she danced with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1939-1944 and 1952-1953. Her collection consists of two photographs of Anna as the White Swan Queen in Swan Lake.
Marian Kaplan Collection
An American ballet dancer who studied with Alexandra Danilova, Kaplan’s love of movement led her to the field of physical therapy and she graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1974. Her collection consists of performance and souvenir programs.
Rita Karlin Brandt Collection
Karlin studied ballet in New York at the School of American Ballet and Ballet Arts then became a member of Ballet Society and New York City Ballet. She danced with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1948 to 1951. Her collection contains performance programs, newspaper clippings, photographs, and a note from Alexandra Danilova.

Kuri’s collection contains books, a newspaper clipping, and photographs.
C. W. L’Hommedieu Collection
The L’Hommedieu Collection contains a photograph of Maria Tallchief holding her young daughter, a newspaper clipping, and a souvenir program.
Larkin was member of the Shawnee-Peoria Tribe from Oklahoma. She joined the Original Ballet Russe when she was 15 and is one of the 5 Moons, Native American ballerinas from Oklahoma. Jasinski, was a Polish-born dancer who joined Col. W. de Basil’s Ballets Russes in 1932. Larkin and Jasinski married in Buenos Aires on Christmas Eve in 1943. They later joined the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo where they danced from 1948 to 1954. In 1956 they founded a ballet school and ballet company in Tulsa. The Larkin/Jasinski collection contains manuscripts, scrapbooks, photographs, programs, and dance costume pieces.
Martha Larsen Photo
Larsen attended Oklahoma State University and has published books with her husband Mike Larsen. The Martha Larsen Photo is of Miguel Terekhov and Yvonne Chouteau in front of a painting of them by Mike Larsen.
Lucy Latta Collection
Latta’s collection consists of a book about the Ballets Russes and a souvenir program from the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo.
Born in Los Angeles, Laune decided at age 8 that she wanted to dance with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo after seeing the company perform. She danced with the company from 1949 – 1952 moving from corps de ballet to demi-solo roles. Her collection consists of copies of articles about her career with the Ballet Russe, photographs and copies of photographs.
Le Vine was an American ballet teacher, dancer, and director who trained with several renowned dancers including Mia Slavenska and Bronislava Nijinska. Her collection contains photographs, magazine articles, souvenir programs and a book.
Lindgren, a Canadian dancer, performed with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1944-1952 as did his American wife Sonja Taanila (Tyven), from 1945-1952. Their collection consist of photographs, correspondence, rehearsal schedules, drawings, books, costumes, promotional materials, and other memorabilia.
Dancing as Leonore Lovering, Copeland performed with The Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1954-1956. Her collection includes dance books and memorabilia from her time in the company.
