Paula Tennyson Hoffman Collection
Paula Tennyson Hoffman joined Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo at age 17. Tennyson Hoffman was later a faculty member for the Virginia Ballet Company for more than 30 years. Her collection contains correspondence, contracts, photographs, and memorabilia from Ballet Russe.
Miguel Terekhov, born in Montevideo, Uruguay fell in love with dance at age seven after watching a ballet performance. He joined Colonel de Basil’s Original Ballet Russe in 1942, dancing with that company until 1947. He later performed with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1954-1958. In the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo he met his wife Yvonne Chouteau, one of Oklahoma’s 5 Moons as the Native American ballerinas became known. Yvonne had joined the company in 1943 and danced with the company until 1954. Their collection contains programs, photographs, a scrapbook, newspaper clippings and reviews from their time with the Ballet Russe companies as well as their years as teachers and choreographers for the University of Oklahoma and what is now the Oklahoma City Ballet.

Walda Welch Cobain danced with the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo from 1954-1955. Her collection contains photographs, papers, prints, manuscripts, and textiles. The collection also includes Welch’s Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo suitcase and her overnight bag from her season with the company as well as a pair of Karsavina’s pointe shoes.
Veronica Wilcox Collection
Veronica Wilcox trained at the Royal Academy of Dancing in New Zealand. When the family moved to Boston, she continued training at the Boston Ballet School, later joining the company. She became an instructor and choreographer in the US and Germany including the teaching faculty at Oklahoma City University. Her collection of Ballets Russe materials includes souvenir and performance programs, magazines, photographs, and books.
Patricia Wilde Collection
Patricia Wilde danced with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo from 1945-1949 and later became a principle dancer with the New York City Ballet. Her collection consists of a typed biography, a hand-written document about her time in the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, a memorial announcement about the death of fellow dancer Valrene Tweedie, and photographs.
